The Morgan Recreation Ground

The Morgan Recreation Ground has a variety of facilities to keep the whole family entertained - the only argument might be what to try out first!

There is plenty to do but don’t forget to have a rest on one of the many benches available. Admire the view? Spot the mistletoe? Listen to the birds? Have a chat?

After your Rec adventures, why not head into the High Street for some shopping or refreshments?

Parking

Ideally, please walk to the Morgan Rec but if you do need to drive, the car park is off Lower Broadmore Road, RG45 7LD.

Park area

Dotted amongst the grass are various pieces of play equipment for children to try - swings, slide, trampolines and various climbing options.

Toddler Play Area

The fenced area near the car park has swings, roundabout and slide for younger park users.

Toilets

Toilets are found behind the toddler area and open at 9am Monday to Saturday, 10am on Sundays. They are closed on Bank Holidays.

Games area

This surfaced games area at the far end of the park to the car park, has something for everyone to enjoy.

There is a basketball and football pitch, a netball hoop game, a calisthenics work out area and a Ninja trail, all ideal for older children and adults.

An all ability route from the car park is available from the footpath on Lower Broadmore Road.

Exercise track

This exercise track is great for walkers, runners, joggers, cyclists and roller skaters of all ages. It is perfect for families with pushchairs, toddler bikes and scooters or for those warming up or getting back into exercise.

Three laps equates to 1km while 5 laps is a mile. An all ability route from the car park is available via the sports area and the footpath on Lower Broadmore Road.

Adult Outdoor Gym Equipment

Currently, 3 pieces of equipment designed for adult use - cross trainer, static bike and leg press. This area is due for an upgrade when funds allow.

Football pitch

In the middle of the exercise track there is a full sized grass football pitch which is both available for teams to hire (changing rooms also available) or for an informal kick around using the permanent goals.

Throughout the season the line markings are refreshed at the end of each week ready for the weekend games. The exercise track is ideal for spectators throughout the match.
