PLATINUM JUBILEE ART COMPETITION

Platinum Jubilee Art Competition

Crowthorne Parish Council is organising an art competition to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.  Experienced artists from Crowthorne and Sandhurst Art Society, and local portrait artist and librarian, Wendy Booth, will be judging the entries to be displayed in a celebratory exhibition hosted at Crowthorne Library over the Jubilee weekend and half term.

Who can enter?
Both children and adults can enter their work.  There are 4 classes, each with their own specifications, so there will be a class to suit every artist out there!

  1. Artwork of a royal theme. Any medium or style, 2D, less than A3. ENTRY FORM >>
  2. A hand-crafted royal piece of art.   Needlework, woodwork, ceramics, craft, upcycling etc. 3D ENTRY FORM >>

Adult Classes

  1. A portrait of HM Queen.  Years 7-13. A3 or less in size.  Any medium. ENTRY FORM >>

Adult class prizes for each category:

1st prize of Daler-Rowney fine art materials to a value of £150

2nd prize of Daler-Rowney fine art materials to a value of £100

3rd prize of Daler-Rowney fine art materials to a value of £50

Children’s class prizes for each category:

1st prize of Daler-Rowney - Giotto art materials to a value of £75

2nd prize of Daler-Rowney - Giotto art materials to a value of £50

3rd prize of Daler-Rowney – Giotto art materials to a value of £25

We are happy to be sponsored by the international fine art supplies manufacturer Daler-Rowney, whose headquarters and colour manufacturing are based in Bracknell. Daler-Rowney has been producing the finest art materials for nearly 240 years, and continues to support creativity for everyone at all levels of experience and age.

How to enter

The deadline for entries is Tuesday 3rd May for initial judging.  Artists are asked to submit their work electronically to projects@crowthorne-pc.gov.uk along with the correct entry form for the class they are entering.  Shortlisted artists will be asked to bring their work for further judging to the parish office on 10-12th May.

Children in Year 6 and below are asked to use the entry form provided.
