CPC hosted Green Week in June 2025 to tackle Climate Change. The increase in flash floods, destructive high winds and record breaking summer temperatures is something that we are all experiencing, and something that we are all responsible for.
CROW has asked our village shops to make a pledge to celebrate Green Week. In addition to new stock, green window displays and special offers, check out the list of pledges here to see how our shops are committing to the environment.

Wondering about heat pumps? Either getting one in the next year or so, or resigned to the technology when you have to?
This website, www.visitaheatpump.com provides the information for you to see them in action, shown off by the home owners themselves, not a salesperson. Local resident, Russell, has kindly organised two events in Green Week to demonstrate his own heat pump system in Sandhurst on 11th or 13th June. Why not go along and find out about the practicalities, grants, expectations and costs so you are a step closer to emission free home heating.
All of our village schools are committed to learning about habitats and recycling. They also regularly encourage their community to walk or cycle to school to reduce both congestion and emissions. We are lucky that many are making an extra effort in Green Week!
Deliver your unwanted, yet usable tools by 29th June to the Baptist Church, so they can be refurbished, sorted into trade tool kits and sent to the developing world for livelihood creation.
Travelling by car produces a significant amount of carbon dioxide, but you can cut your emissions by using your bike. There are safe, off-road cycle routes from Crowthorne into both Bracknell and Wokingham. They make for easy cycling and you save on parking fees! Take a walk in Crowthorne and see how many of these natural treasures you can find. Where will you go - Pinewood, Chaucer's Wood, Bigshotte Park, Morgan Rec, Heath Lake, Circle Hill, Wildmoor Heath, Gorrick Plantation? So many options!
Bumblebees are familiar and much-loved insects that pollinate our crops, so people are rightly worried about their declining numbers. Urgent action is needed to provide habitats and protect their populations.
